MyLitigation.net Gives Voice to Consumer Advocates and Litigants

After many years of fighting censorship by the media and commercial news distributors, consumer litigant Christine Baker launched her litigation news releases site http://mylitigation.net.  While consumer gripe sites are cluttered with anonymous rants, only credible and well documented releases are published at MyLitigation.net, giving consumer advocates and litigants the exposure they deserve.

(LITIGATION NEWS) December 21, 2005 - For over 10 years Christine Baker published her documentaries of fraudulent foreclosures and corporate and government corruption at her web sites.  Corporate attorneys promised libel and slander lawsuits if she didn’t delete “defamatory” or “slanderous” statements, but none of the attorneys kept their promises.  Ms. Baker always stood by her policy to not delete accurate statements and that illegal and unethical conduct should be publicized.

The publication of factual disputes, litigation news and open letters are the primary purpose of her new site http://mylitigation.net

In 2001, Ms. Baker filed her first lawsuit against credit bureau Trans Union pro se because she could not find an attorney to represent her in Kingman, Arizona.  She searched for legal help on the web and found http://proselitigant.net/, originally established by a paralegal who published her lawsuit against credit bureau Experian.  Despite a complete lack of legal skills, Ms. Baker was encouraged and inspired to file her suit against numerous credit bureaus, creditors and collectors reporting incorrect data on her credit reports in Phoenix federal court on 3/19/03, case # CV-03-525.

Ms. Baker documents her litigation at her blog http://creditsuit.org/ and forum http://fight-back.us/forum/ and the court filings are posted at CreditCourt http://forum.creditcourt.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.pl She continued her search for consumer attorneys and learned that they are mostly interested in representing wealthy ID theft victims with large damages, as attorneys usually get a percentage of the settlement.

With many thousands of web pages, even Ms. Baker has trouble keeping track of what’s where.  In 2004, she began issuing news releases with comprehensive summaries of the most current and important cases and with the links to supporting documentation such as court filings, scanned documentation, correspondence and recorded calls – enabling the reader to evaluate the merits of the case.

The releases were very popular and some were accessed over 100,000 times, but the commercial news release distributors rejected and deleted releases:

“Sorry, we do not accept or distribute press releases written in such a way as to harm or defame another company or person.”

Ms. Baker’s releases seeking others to participate in a class action and offering a reward for information about illegal junk fax and penny stock market manipulations were deleted.

Researching other consumer complaint sites, Ms. Baker learned that the very popular site http://ripoffreport.com/ does not allow consumers to post their last names, contact information or links to documentation, resulting in many frivolous complaints by consumers, disgruntled employees and competitors.

Several companies sued Ripoff Report and owner Ed Magedson.  The complaints in Phoenix federal court case # CV-04-2856 and Florida 17th circuit court, Broward County, case # 04-17721-21, allege that Ripoff Report engaged in extortion and offered deletions, edits or updates to the negative reports posted by consumers in exchange for large payments from the corporations.

Apparently there was no site dedicated to FACTUAL and DOCUMENTED consumer disputes and litigation until Ms. Baker launched http://mylitigation.net/ to enable her and others to:

*** Publicize consumer litigation, arbitration or disputes
*** Search for others to participate in class actions or become co-plaintiffs
*** Offer rewards for information or documentation of corporate misconduct
*** Hold elected officials, regulators and corporate executives accountable through open letters

While most published open letters are ignored, the failure to respond documents the corporations’ contempt for consumers and documents that the consumer attempted to resolve the dispute outside court before resorting to legal action and the corporation willfully and sometimes maliciously refused to correct its mistakes.

After several years of litigation, Ms. Baker still finds legal action to be extremely stressful and frustrating and she’d like nothing more than to have to pay her bills only once and to see only complete and accurate data on her credit reports.  Unfortunately, many companies refuse to admit “errors” even when sued and their own exhibits clearly establish that they are wrong.  Many corporations are convinced that they will prevail because they have unlimited funds and attorneys at their disposal.

Ms. Baker hopes that her publications will inspire other consumers to stand up for their rights, whether through published letters or lawsuits, and to ultimately force corporations to be more honest because juries will award punitive damages when it can be documented that the “occasional” clerical error was deliberate and not corrected despite disputes.

At this time, MyLitigation.net is not a commercial site and Ms. Baker will distribute well written and documented open letters and consumer litigation releases free of charge.  While she is very busy with her litigation and maintaining the web sites, funded by her FICO credit score consultations and her subscription forum at http://creditfactors.com/, she will assist with the publication of corporate fraud and corruption as time permits.

The corporations have unlimited funds for lawyers and advertising.  When consumers share their efforts, research and knowledge, their chances of prevailing exponentially increase.  For more information please visit http://mylitigation.net, http://creditsuit.org/ and the forum at http://fight-back.us/forum/
